“The joy of discovery is certainly the liveliest that the mind of man can ever feel”

My Thoughts

According to National Ocean Service we have only explored 5% of the sea, so how are we to jump to such a conclusion that one of the most dominant predators in history has gone into extinction. Also, C. megalodon was hunted by few and killed even less so being killed into extinction is more than likely out of the question. C. megalodon also did not become extinct because of lack of food source either since leviathan melvillei, Megalodon's big portioned meal, out lived Megalodon.

The alligator and the crocodile have lived since middle Miocene along with megalodon, who is to say that it didn’t evolve as well?

Another thought I had while reading through these articles was that if such an apex predator were to seize existence wouldn't there be a drastic change in the ecology of the middle miocene? The people in the articles bring it up but they don’t really have any concrete evidence.

One more thought that had come across my mind was if C. megalodon did go into extinction in 2.6 or 3.5 middle miocene why wasn't there a massive over population of the leviathan melvillei. Carcharocle Megalodon was one of the few predators in the world that even had a possibility to kill the leviathan melvillie.
